Elizabeth Graves, Ph.D., LPCS, NCLPSC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Services in the College of Education and Allied Professions at Western Carolina University in Asheville, North Carolina. Her research focus is the study of resilience development in survivors of child sexual abuse, a fervor sparked from more than a decade’s work in the professions of school counseling and clinical mental health counseling. As a result of her passion for well-preparing clinicians bound for the counseling fields, she earned MINT (Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers) membership, a certificate in Spiritual Formation and Direction (Sursum Corda / Shalem Model), and completed a 200 hour hatha yoga teacher training (Neighborhood Yoga, Boone, NC). She employs aspects of all of these in her teaching and supervision. On a more personal note, she is a twin, was born with anosmia (no sense of smell), and has been rescued by several Great Danes.
