Therapist Application

Therapist Member Requirements
  • You must be a licensed or provisionally licensed (Pre-Licensed/License Eligible) mental health clinician with a graduate degree in psychotherapy, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • You agree to Open Path’s sliding scale range of $40-$70 for individual counseling (and $40-$80 for couples or family counseling) for Open Path client members.
  • We also accept student interns, who are allowed to offer $30 sessions to Open Path clients. In that case, you must be completing your practicum or clinical internship to obtain your master’s degree. You will be required to provide a copy of your current, unofficial transcripts and your signed supervision contract for your internship.
  • You will respond to Open Path prospective client inquiries within 4 business days.
  • You agree to work with a minimum of one Open Path client annually.

We will review your application and verify your license online if we are able to. If we can’t find your information, we will contact you via email. Once our review is complete, you’ll be published in our directory

  • The personal statement is a way to warmly greet prospective clients and give them a sense of the benefits of therapy with you. We recommend that you write directly to your ideal client and avoid the use of jargon they might not understand.
    If you are a student intern, please provide your supervisor's name and site location below.
  • Max 3mb. Recommended portrait size is 300x300 pixels, otherwise automated cropping may potentially chop or skew your portrait proportions. To avoid this, please crop your image into a square format before uploading. Online tools such as http://www.picmonkey.com can be helpful for editing your photo.
    Accepted file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif.

  • Please note that Open Path clients are all self-pay and will not use insurance as a form of payment. Please do not enter any insurance carriers with whom you are affiliated.

  • Open Path provides people in need with access to transformative and affordable mental health care. We envision a just, compassionate world where all people can easily access the care they need to thrive. In partnership with mental health clinicians in private practice throughout the fifty states and Canada, Open Path provides middle and lower-income level clients with access to affordable mental health care.
