You feel anxious, depressed, stuck in life…
You feel as though the pain of your past is stopping you from living your best life possible…
You involve yourself in unhealthy relationships, you want to love yourself completely, and to build healthier relationships…
You don’t feel your best self holistically, mind, body, spirit…
No matter how much you accomplish, you feel like nothing you do is good enough, that you aren’t good enough. The world is passing you by…
You’re hurting and you want to find emotional, cognitive, and spiritual healing…
You lack the Self-esteem, the Confidence, and the feeling of Worthiness you need to navigate through your life’s journey…
You want to feel Empowered, to be an undeniable force, walking in your Purpose…
And while many are attempting to change the narrative regarding mental health and wellness in society, there’s still so much stigma around it right?
You ask yourself…
How will people perceive me if I go to a therapist?
Is something wrong with me for needing help dealing with my issue(s)?
What many people don’t know is you don’t have to be severely mentally ill to need emotional support and to seek help. Sometimes in life we feel stuck, lost, hopeless, alone, afraid, confused. Life can bring us challenges that may seem to be overwhelming. Sometimes we feel we have the answers, and sometimes we need guidance in navigating through life’s journey. Talking with a professional can help get you through life’s difficult situations, and it takes a courageous person to acknowledge the need for help and to work toward change. Know that you’re strong and having someone to help you navigate life’s challenges, identifying what triggers your pain, and where healing needs to occur, will help you to become even stronger.
And look at you!… You’ve made the first step toward seeking a positive change in your life, and gaining a sense of empowerment for yourself!
Seeking guidance to help deal with the challenges of life and the stress that circumstances may sometimes bring is OK! Change can be difficult and scary, but is necessary for growth.
I’m Opal Knight, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of South Carolina and Georgia, as well as, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina; and I’m happy that you’ve found the courage to take a step toward healing.
As your therapist I will assist you in overcoming your fears, your grief, your pain…the pain of your past, learning to live in the present, decreasing the worries of your future. I will guide you in the process of healing and transformation, and empower you to have confidence in yourself and live your best life possible- mind, body, and spirit. Life transitions can be very difficult, and sometimes until we heal from the pain of our past, we can’t live fully in the present, and prepare for our future. We can’t move forward in healthy relationships until we learn to love ourselves holistically. As your therapist, I will work with you to help you discover the power you have within to achieve your life goals.
Being a helping professional has always been a goal of mine. As a young girl, I knew that I wanted to have my own private practice, helping to change the lives of others. I believe that I’ve been purposed to motivate, to inspire, and to empower others to love themselves, finding peace with themselves mind, body, and spirit. I believe that our relationship with ourselves is so vital in our healing process, in life transitions, our life goals, and the relationships we have in our lives. If we love ourselves completely, we’ll want the best for ourselves, we won’t have to “pour from an empty cup”, and we’ll be able to give our best to our community and the people in our lives.
I have a passion for helping those who are hurting, especially women, to find emotional and spiritual healing. I believe that counseling gives you an amazing opportunity to invest in your personal, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and spiritual well-being. Women are essential in the home, the community, and the workforce. We are nurturers, we are caregivers, we give life, we love. When a woman is healed, and she is empowered, she is an undeniable force, adding so much value in her home and in the community.
When I’m not in my role as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with the ones I love, my family. My therapy is music, or reading a good book. I enjoy spending time in nature, and I find pleasure in the simple things in life. I believe that if you look, you’ll see blessings and healing all around you. I believe that gratitude is the seed for more, and changing your mindset can change your life. My motto: “Live to Grow, Experience to Learn, Forgive to Heal, Know Love, Love Life”.
I do not tell client’s how to live their lives, I am simply here to help you with your life situations. Together we will seek to uncover the root of your difficulties and develop healthier techniques for coping with them.
