Binaries can be stifling. Suffocating. Living in a world with prescribed ideals, roles, presentations and expectations is exhausting, terrifying and lonely. Maybe you’ve always known that something about you doesn’t quite fit the within the strict confines and regulations of gender and sexuality in our society. Maybe you’re just now starting to question things, or feeling confused and overwhelmed about your gender experiences, sexuality and identity. Maybe you’ve struggled for a long time with other issues (mood, anxiety, relationships, substances, trauma) that intersect with your gender & sexuality. If so, I’m here to help.
I have experience and passion working with individuals who’ve experienced trauma, mood challenges and individuals who identify as trans/nonbinary and/or gender non-conforming. I identify as a survivor, as transgender and nonbinary. I share these identities because I believe it creates a space for my clients to feel safe, seen and supported.
I have a lot of knowledge I can share with you. I’m constantly learning and I love to share. I can tell you about psychology, about the nervous system, about the way scientists believe our brains work; I can tell you about moods and thoughts and learning structure; I can offer you new ways to “think about thinking” that might be helpful for you; I can offer concrete tools/techniques that you can apply in your day-to-day life and better understand difficult feelings, thoughts and situations. But ultimately, you are the expert on you. I see my role as both a mirror and as an unconditionally empathetic guide. I hope to develop a relationship with you that is built on of trust and empathy, where you feel safe, seen and supported. I aspire to help you explore your own expertise – your inner truths which are likely lingering just below the surface and may need to be said (or shouted!) out loud and witnessed, before you can begin putting those truths into practice. Ultimately, I hope to help tap into and harness your inner resources and resiliency.
Maybe you’ve arrived at my profile because you’re thinking about booking a session. If so, I’m grateful for the opportunity to hear your story, to listen to what you’ve been through and build a relationship that can be healing and helpful in your life.
