It took a lot of courage for you to get here. If you’ve been living with the difficulties of navigating your life’s concerns, you may need some help finding a better way.
You may have experienced a difficult personal event. You may be struggling to find joy in some of the activities or that you used to love. You may be having challenges in communicating with your loved ones. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy at this time, I honor your choice to ask for help during your difficult time.
The symptoms of gender and sexuality concerns, relationship stress, and anxiety can cause further damage such as feelings of purposelessness and low self-esteem and self-harm. I can help you move beyond the spiral of these issues and find contentment and peace within yourself.
I know what it feels like to experience difficult stressors in life. My life experiences have led me here, to help guide you through the fog of your symptoms and into a more meaningful and content life. I am a sex-positive, kink affirmative therapist and I would love to be your support in your self-improvement journey. I know you are capable and strong enough to do this because you have already taken the biggest step: finding a therapist.
I currently work throughout all of Washington state and all of Maryland. I provide telehealth counseling through a HIPAA secure video platform. Counseling is conducted in a completely confidential, virtual office, from the safety of your home. I hold the LMHC license in Washington, and the LCPC and LCPAT licenses in Maryland.
My belief is that counseling is a collaborative process of finding balance in your life through the creative process. We will work together to discover the best possible approach to meet your needs and the goals that you wish to achieve during counseling. I will provide support in a person-centered, humanistic, and strengths-based approach to help you meet and exceed your goals, while sometimes using art and creative tools to deepen the exploration of your goals. I believe that counseling should be recovery-oriented, eventually leading you to develop skills and tools to rely on yourself and your support system during the ebbs and flows of life.
I regularly use creativity and art in my personal and professional life. I identify myself as both an artist and a therapist, and I have experienced the power of using creativity from both identities. Creativity can come in many forms, including drawing or painting, writing or journaling, taking a nature walk, or cooking. We may explore some aspects of your creativity during our work together, as a coping tool toward your recovery. I am a board-certified registered art therapist (ATR-BC).
My personal and professional experiences have given me specialized insight into working with individuals who are involved in open relationships and polyamorous relationships. I love working within the polyamorous and kink communities and would be honored to help you navigate the challenges within your life’s experience.
