Let’s be real. Life is hard sometimes but if you’ve landed on this page, then you have taken the first step in your growth, healing, and transformation. I enjoy helping people navigate life’s challenges and transitional stages, and I look forward to supporting you in this journey.
My name is Louisia Santoyo and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (supervised by Jillian Stevens, LPCS). At my private practice Mind Aid Virtual Therapy, I believe in fostering a safe and confidential environment where clients can explore their feelings and experiences via telehealth in the comfort of their own home. At Mind Aid Virtual Therapy, I offer affordable services in addition to sliding scale fees to those who qualify.
I offer individual and couples therapy (ages 18 and up), and I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients develop practical coping skills. The primary theories I use in counseling are CBT, Person Centered, and Solution Focused, along with being trauma-informed. My approach to psychotherapy is collaborative, allowing clients to set the pace for their healing journey. Observation, inspiration, and determination are the keys to success for clients.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and received my Master’s Degree of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am a member of several professional organizations including the NBCC and CSI. While an LPC associate, I have found fulfillment in helping clients gain clarity on their therapeutic journey and watching them grow emotionally, cognitively, and even spiritually.
As an intern and now an associate, I have primarily worked with adult women in processing trauma that stems from sexual abuse and assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. I have also provided services to the LBGTQ + community as well as the migrant/undocumented population and other marginalized groups.
In counseling you can learn coping mechanisms, improve social skills, how to mend relationships, and how to make healthier choices in life.
Finally, since I’m virtual I can provide therapy services to anyone in the state of Texas.
Take the first step today and we will walk this journey together.
