“I’m feeling stuck!” Do you feel like you have lost track of who you are, or that your past or current circumstances are preventing you from enjoying the success, relationships, joy or peace you want? Sometimes we get lost in pain and defeat, overwhelmed by life’s everyday pressures, our own emotions and memories or the expectations of others. The same patterns repeat themselves, and we sometimes feel powerless to stop them.
You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out without help! In therapy you are free to explore and process your unique lived experiences at your chosen pace. Our journey together can be one of healing and discovery, finding clarity and increased satisfaction in relationships. You can heal the painful wounds of the past. You will gain the tools to meet your unique life circumstances with increased confidence and peace.
When we work together, you will find a supportive and non-judgmental space of hope and healing. My approach includes simple straightforward cognitive and mindfulness practices that allow you to recognize and accept your emotions, thoughts, & behavior patterns and live from an an empowered, responsive space aligned with your core values. Compassion for self and others is at the center of our work. You can discover a new sense of self-acceptance, calm, confidence and joy.
For those hoping to target specific trauma, difficult experiences or barriers to peace, EMDR is a gentle and effective way to reprocess thoughts and feelings from the past that have become “stuck”, creating ongoing suffering in the present. It’s never too late.
My clinical experience includes anxiety and depression, trauma recovery and related substance use, relationship issues, and transitions in life stages or circumstances such as physical disability, parenting challenges, grief and loss, change in employment status, divorce, or retirement.
I have post-graduate training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Please feel free to find out more about these approaches and/or contact me with any questions you may have about my practice philosophy.
I offer 50-minute talk therapy sessions in person in Helena, Montana or via telehealth (online video appointments) anywhere in the state.
