I’m so glad that you’re here! I’m excited to be working with Open Path Psychotherapy Collective to connect with people exactly like you who are having the courage to reach out for support.
Therapy can be a place of profound nourishment, where all aspects of you can be welcome, seen, honored, cared for and celebrated.
My approach to therapy tailors counseling sessions around your unique needs and preferences. I will support you towards accessing your own inherent strengths and resources to cultivate safety, self-acceptance, empowerment, and even joy.
There is no one way to heal, and I will be right there with you in whatever is real for you in the present moment while supporting you with my therapeutic skills every step of the way. Sessions can be deeply profound and cathartic, or lighthearted and playful depending on what is true and right in the moment. Genuine human connection is a top priority in the therapeutic process, and it’s important to me that you feel welcome to come exactly as you are.
I have worked with a wide range of clientele, and specializes in trauma, both acute and complex. I’ve given special focus on learning how to better serve individuals who have lived through prolonged exposure to traumatic or abusive environments. As a former refugee from Hurricane Katrina, I’m passionate about supporting other refugees, survivors of climate crises, and those who have experienced displacement.
I also enjoy working with clients who may be experiencing delusions or auditory/visual hallucinations, those who experience compulsions and/or phobias, people who experience two or more distinct personalities within themself (DID), people who live with chronic pain or chronic illness, survivors of abuse, people who have experienced war (whether they are veterans or survivors of conflict), people going through spiritual transformations or who have experienced spiritual traumas, and those who live with depression and/or anxiety.
For those familiar with therapy modalities, My approach has been described as humanistic and experiential, and is primarily rooted in psychosynthesis, internal family systems, and somatic experiencing.
I am certified in Creative Expression and trained in EMDR and NARM. I have been a meditation practitioner for over 10 years, studying and practicing mindfulness, Transcendental Meditation and Vipassana. I hold certifications as a Maharishi Ayurveda Wellness Consultant and as a trauma-informed yoga instructor. My greatest teachers have been all of the people I have known and loved throughout my life, and my connection with and time in nature.
The work of therapy is sacred, and the trust that is built and shared in the process is a privilege and an honor. I welcome clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, cultural backgrounds, and religious beliefs.
