Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn about me. In my experience as a Professional Counselor I have worked in community counseling centers, acute in-patient hospitals, as part of a multidisciplinary team of mental health workers providing in home services, and most recently on a nearby Army installation with active duty service members and their families. I have worked with children as young as three years old through adults well into their golden years and been part of court-mandated individual and group counseling for both juveniles and adults, facilitated family and parenting programs for the Department of Family and Children Services, and also managed a state certified Family Violence Intervention Program for those charged with domestic violence.
Through all of my years of working with others the one value that I continue to prioritize is serving my clients and keeping them centered. My goal with every client I work with is to help them realize their goals and define what success means to them. In doing this, I work to create a safe and trusting relationship so that you feel comfortable to allow yourself to explore your fears that may be preventing you from achieving your goals. Validation, acceptance, and self-compassion are key in this process. As we build trust, I will guide and support you as you begin to identify the needs that have not been getting met. Together, we can work to create the balance that leads you to having the life envision yourself living.
I enjoy working with both individuals and those in relationships. My space is safe for all and affirms your identity, sexuality, and/or relationship, however you define it. I understand and respect the differences between cultures, races, genders, etc and invest heavily into educating myself, personally and professionally, about issues related to these things so that I can work toward being a more culturally informed therapist and human.
Thank you for your time and getting to know a little about me. I hope to get to know you better and should you decide to take that step, thank you for that opportunity. I wish you the best on your journey.
