Hello and welcome.
I provide strengths based, holistic, individualized treatment (Colorado only) and life coaching (all states) where we work together to come up with your goals and the methods of treatment that work for you. I am trained in multiple treatment modalities with expressive arts being the foundation. My specialty is working with women, children and those that are significantly overweight. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist and Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (Adult, Child, Adolescent, Family and Addictions based) and have numerous certifications from trauma centered organization. I have worked with individuals focusing on holistic, mindfulness based, spiritual and personal growth, therapeutic arts coaching and therapy and creative exploration for the past 15 years. Therapeutic Art and Expressive arts Facilitation is a “no art experience required” process of exploring creativity and yourself in a non judgmental way combining different forms of creating in one session, activity or lesson. For instance you might start a session with grounding, breathwork and a short moving meditation, then move to an art based creation process (painting, collage, photography) then in summary, create a poem or find quotes that say something personal and meaningful about your process of creation, exploration or feelings.
I incorporate all methods of creating in various form such as visual art, music use/composition ’performance, movement, the use or creation of film and photography, expressive writing and poetry, etc. Mindfulness help us dive deep and find sanctuary in our process of creating and exploring our personal struggles. I’ve been a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation for over 20 years, studied Pranayama and Primordial Breathwork and Meditation at the Chopra Center and am trained in Isha Kriya, iRest, Yoga Nidra, Taoist meditation, Metta and moving meditations along being train in John Kabat Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindful Schools. I am a certified mindfulness practitioner, a master mindfulness and meditation teacher, a Therapeutic Art and Mindfulness/Meditation Life Coach, meditative artist and Shamanic Art Practitioner and Life Coach as well. I have been a student of Bhakti yoga for nearly a decade, while embracing and calling on the power of the universal energy from the Christ Consciousness, Christian Mystics, Taoism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Sufism and Indigenous and earth based traditions. I come from a New Thought (Earnest Holmes and Charles Fillmore), Universalist perspective respecting all paths of spirituality and am an active elder in the progressive Christian doctrine of Disciples of Christ as well as study with Fr. Richard Rohr at CAC, embracing equity for all, advocating social justice causes and living life from a compassionate perspective.
I added Mental Health Integrated Medicine in 2018, focusing on nutrition and lifestyle changes to my practice as a method to enhance mood, control anxiety and improve general health specifically for pain management, trauma, grief and addictions recovery. I completed my training as a Grief Counseling Specialist and in Healing with Art for Palliative End of Life Care in 2019 and have numerous other clinical certifications.
