As of August 2023, my sliding scale spots through Open Path have been filled and are no longer available. I will update this page if and when I have an opening in my sliding scale spots.
Starting therapy can be an intimidating and sometimes awkward experience. It might leave you wondering how to reach out, what to say, what to do, or how to act. It might make you feel nauseous or confused. I get it. My goal is to be here with you, in the moment, and to provide you with the help and support that you deserve and desire.
My main approach to counseling is to meet you where you’re at, hear what you are wanting to work on, and support you in making the changes you discover that you need both internally and externally.
If you often find yourself nauseous and wanting to cry when there is conflict in your life. Or maybe you wish that you could just hit pause on the world because it all just feels so overwhelming sometimes and you aren’t sure what to do next. Sometimes you get the thought that no one understands you or what you’re trying to say, or you don’t understand them.. or sometimes, you don’t really understand yourself, either. You notice feeling hurt in a lot of your relationships. You know that you want to have better relationships, have less conflict, less stress, set boundaries, and understand yourself and your actions better. You crave stability and steadiness in a life or in relationships that feel rocky or confusing.
My goal is to help you gain skill in understanding and expressing your emotions; improve your communication and find general satisfaction in life; and help you learn how to get your needs met. My passion is helping individuals who struggle with conflict and communication in their important relationships. I enjoy working with people, not at them, and I believe that working together is the best way to achieve your goals.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthrozoology from Carroll College, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Boise State University. I have previous experience working in clinical mental heath at a community agency with a wide range of diagnoses and ages.
