Hello. Making a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for all is important to me. I strive toward inclusivity, cultural competency, and social justice. You will find me refreshingly genuine and authentic in my personal style, while also highly professional and respectful of boundaries. Although most of my life I lived in other states, including in the metropolitan areas of New York City and Los Angeles, I am also experienced with issues of particular importance to Utahns, such as LDS faith transitions and conflicts. I welcome all spiritual orientations, including Buddhist, Pagan, Christian (including LDS), agnostic, and atheist. My practice is LGBTQ+ and alternative lifestyle-friendly.
You deserve the best support on your journey to maximize your well-being. We will use a mix of evidence-based therapeutic methods, always grounded in my respect for you, to best meet your needs. A great variety of people have successfully worked with me on a great variety of issues, and I work well with teenagers and adults of all ages. Together we will decide on what specific therapy approaches will work best for you.
You can have excellent individual therapy (one-on-one therapy) or couples therapy with me. I am trained in Gottman Level I and Level II couples therapy. Compassionate bereavement care is also a specialty – supporting individuals experiencing traumatic grief and a variety of other grief and loss. DBT, CBT, ACT, CPT, IFS, trauma-informed, strengths-based, existential, humanistic, artistic/creative, depth and insight-oriented, mindfulness-based, somatic-focused, and sobriety support (both 12-Step and non-12-Step based) are just some of the approaches I have often used in my 10+ years of direct practice experience. My love of learning lets me bring you the best resources, and my deep listening skills let me connect with your personal communication style and truly honor your needs in therapy.
I am offering only teletherapy at this time, but I have also on occasion arranged meetings in public parks with established clients upon request. Sometimes walking and talking is a great option. But telehealth works very well for most people, and I am extremely comfortable using this method of meeting and communicating. Many people who are unsure about virtual meetings at first come to find they prefer it and it is very convenient for them. I will do my best to make it feel personal for you and make it safe therapy space. In telehealth we are able to not only just talk, but also use occasional therapeutic worksheets, videos, or other interactions if we both wish.
Please feel free to email me with any questions and to see if we could be a good fit. I look forward to discussing how we can work well together towards your peak wellness.
