Are you feeling “lost,” or often depressed and anxious, as you navigate your twenties and thirties? Do you yearn to let go of self-judgment and relax with who you are? Do you want to attract a more lasting partner into your life? You may be finding this a very challenging stage as you seek to enter full mature adulthood.
Have you recently gotten married or had a child and find yourself, your partner, or your relationship unrecognizable? Having trouble adjusting or creating healthy boundaries? Do you wish to build a more satisfying relationship again?
I help young and midlife adults on their journey toward achieving self-awareness, acceptance, and satisfying relationships. Seeking therapy during this critical time takes courage but you may know you don’t want to do it alone.
Our therapy will bring richness to your experiencing, managing, and making sense of the challenges that come with growth and transition. Sometimes life transitions are obvious, such as leaving home, getting married, having children; some level of anxiety is expected. Shifts in couple identity and/or family identity (e.g. marriage, birth of first child) can be traumatic to relationships. In therapy we will explore and process the impact on individuals and all involved relationships, and find the needs embedded in the uncomfortable emotions or interactions.
Other times, beyond our awareness conflict emerges, resulting in anxiety, depression or relationship problems without an identifiable cause. Perhaps you are longing to live more authentically; or feeling indecisive about the future of a relationship. Left unprocessed, the emotions can develop into symptoms. Successfully managing the changes you are about to endure, includes exploring and integrating new perspectives, and grieving losses.
I am here to help you focus on your strengths and use the tools you already possess, to get through this challenging time.
I welcome you to come in and answer that yearning for growth, and get closer to the person or couple you want to be… to improve the quality of your relationship with yourself and others. Give me a call at 773-236-8397.
