I have worked in the helping professional for at least 15 years in a variety of capacity from direct care to crisis to community mental health and in home therapy services. I am passionate about enjoying what I am doing and using it to give back to the communities I am apart of. I am a mom, lover of nature and the arts, gardener and friend to the animals in our home. Outside of these identities, I find myself also aligning as a witness and healer to the arts and to the restorative works I engage in such as yoga, Reiki, sound/vibration healing, somatic work and a full nervous system tune up. My work revolves around the belief that sometimes, we just need a mirror to see our reflection more clearly of who we are and what we want to be while feeling belonging and a gentle hold to get us there.
My work centers around kids, young adults and adults. I work with a multitude of needs and diagnoses. There is a focus on chronic illness/pain, neurodivergence including ADHD, developmental and learning disorders and C-PTSD; identity work and reconnection to self, trauma work- including medical, emotional and body trauma; and finally autoimmune disorders, allergies and PANS/PANDAS support. Anxiety and everyday stress can impact us all and lead us all into a spiral of challenges without any clear answers leading to pent up frustrations or feeling stuck. In building a therapeutic relationship with my clients, I honor the client centered approach with a mix of interventions and feedback that can be applied to everyday real situations. In supporting my clients, I also offer alternative practices and advocacy when needed. It is important that the work we do has compassion for my clients and who they are- not just the label that find themselves.
Often, I utilize a multidimensional and eclectic approach, drawing on my toolbox to individualize and meet each need where it is. As an Expressive Arts Therapist- I often bring in the arts when clients feel comfortable in additional to Breathwork, Mindfulness, Somatic work, Sensory supports and other alternatives. For those needing more comfort in the talk therapy approach, I offer combination of work that is CBT, DBT and ACT (cognitive, dialectical and acceptance & commitment) as well as approach from a family systems view. All of my work looks at the client not just for their symptoms but who they are in the larger picture of their life story-where they were, how it started, the present moment and where they want to be going. For those that are not yet ready to dive in that deeply in the counseling work- I do offer Life and Wellness coaching as well that is directly goal orientated and focused on the immediate changes that can be done. For the adventurous clients, all of this can be integrated and woven in to meet where they are appointment to appointment.
I own a small group practice based in MA to support when there is a need that I cannot fill, one of my staff might be a better fit. Currently I am in person and virtual in MA, completely virtual ME with in person coming soon. Occassionally, I will open in person days in both MA and ME out in nature with office hours on a small trail hike or in a quiet spot ideal for connecting, or even at a local beach.
