Anxiety can infiltrate your life until it feels like it is no longer your own. Reducing anxiety is possible and affordable.
Do you feel like you are running all the time? Are you overwhelmed and irritable? Do you hold back from living your life out of fear?
I run a weekly educational program that provides alternatives to anxiety. Instead of talking about your failings and vulnerabilities, you will act on your deepest values for a richer life.
I teach Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a cognitive behavioral therapy, the best known tool for anxiety reduction. You will be guided by online lessons, email support and a weekly video session.
Anxiety lives in your body can not be released with talking alone. You have to take a mind-body approach or you will forever be caught in a cycle of endless anxiety.
The cost is $20 per week and there is no obligation to participate weekly. This program has rolling admission and weekly themes are posted on my website.
If you choose to participate, you can click the link below, register and pay for that week. An email will be sent to you, confirming your participation and with further instructions and information
On Sunday of each week, a lesson is opened and you are alerted by email. Weekly group video sessions occur at the following days and times:
Tuesdays @ 2:00 PM EST
Tuesdays @ 6:30 PM EST
Wednesdays @ 7:00 PM EST
I am offering this program because I believe that mental health can be affordable and effective. Many people report that they go to therapy and talk and talk and nothing happens. It is helpful to be validated and heard, but it doesn’t necessary enact action.
Mental health issues like anxiety live in the body. This program teaches you how to move, breath, and take time for mindfulness. It also educates on communication, brain health, and the environmental issues that exacerbate anxiety. These issues include the effects of workplace stress and bullying, discrimination, and other systemic trauma to name a few.
This is a structured weekly program with goals of implementation of learned skills. In each video session, you can ask questions about the content of the weeks lesson, describe how it was useful or not, and discuss other tools that might be helpful to you in reducing your anxiety.
You will not discuss the details of any trauma nor will you share intimate details or personal information that identifies you by anything more than your first name. This is not a group for anyone who is in crisis.
The goal of this program is to teach Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) tools and assist you in implementing them. You will also be given yoga poses and breathing techniques that are for any level of practitioner.
I believe that when people advocate for themselves and others, they have more optimism and clarity. This program will also help you to look outside yourself to advocate for a cause or community that you believe in. Through activism and advocacy you feel more connected to others and motivated to make positive changes in your own life.
I created this program out of a desire to address the lack of affordable and accessible mental health care in the United States and the rapid rise in loneliness and isolation. It is my goal to promote your right to self-determination and expression while helping you to become connected to others and more of who you really are.
I have extensive experience working with culturally diverse individuals including people of color, people with a disability, women, and individuals over the age of 50. I enjoy working with a variety of interesting people like yourself, please message me if you have any questions, I can’t wait to hear from you!
