Open Path continues to grow. After a lengthy national search, we’re thrilled to introduce our new Membership Manager & Registrar:

Mariana Pardes lives in Philadelphia, PA, where she will manage Open Path’s busy virtual front desk. Mariana will work with Open Path clients, member therapists, and users of our mental health education websites, drawing on a long commitment to social justice and affordable mental health. Mariana has previously worked as a social researcher, educator, administrator and community organizer with different constituencies including low-income adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and Latinx communities. Mariana earned her M.A. in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University and her B.A. at Swarthmore College.

We would also like to introduce three new members of Open Path Psychotherapy Collective’s Board of Directors: Sonal Shah Taylor, Aditi-Sethi Brown, and Brent Beam:

Sonal Shah Taylor graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Biology and History in 2000, and from the AUC School of Medicine in 2004. She completed her internal medicine residency at New York Hospital of Queens in 2007. Sonal is a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and is a certified functional medicine provider. She was involved in the earthquake relief effort in Haiti in 2010 and has continued work in Haiti with Rise 2 Shine. She has worked for the Indian Health Service on the Navajo reservation and has an ongoing interest in nonprofit and relief work. She is deeply committed to health equity and death and dying work. A Hospitalist for the last 10 years, Sonal began working at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC in 2011.

Aditi Sethi-Brown is a hospice and palliative medicine and family physician who currently works at the CarePartners/Mission Solace Center, an inpatient Hospice facility in Asheville, NC. She received a B.A. in Religious Studies and Medical Humanities from Davidson College in 2002, and an M.D from the Medical College of Georgia in 2008. She completed her post-graduate training in Asheville, NC with MAHEC in 2012.

Brent Beam is a licensed psychologist and owner of Beam Counseling & Coaching, a private psychotherapy practice in Asheville, NC. Brent graduated from the University of North Carolina and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Southern Illinois University. His clinical and consultant experience spans university counseling centers, healthcare and EAP settings, and wilderness therapy. A member of the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity, Brent specializes in strengthening men’s well-being.
