Mr. Reid Stell
Hello and welcome!
Like many people in a similar situation to yours, you have made a decision to move forward in life. That decision has brought you here. And so, the circumstances that have led you this far must be appreciated for what they are: motivation to move beyond your old limitations.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE
When emotional suffering becomes unbearable we must take action. Your pain has brought you here, ready to do something about it and I’m here to tell you there is good reason to be hopeful about your future! I hope we’ll meet soon to discuss the next step in making some important changes–changes that will make you look back on this period and be glad it got your attention.
I counsel kids, families, couples, and individuals who are dealing with issues ranging from depression, anxiety, and fears, to relationship problems, unwanted behaviors, and addictions. I also do grief counseling and I leading support groups and non-AA addiction groups.
VALUES AND PHILOSOPHY
Nelson Mandela said it so well: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be?”
You have it in you to be a better you. My role, as we work together, is to help you recognize the resources you may feel unable to call upon. By exploring your unused or forgotten talents and strengths, the way forward to a better future shows itself.
As you learn to take small, satisfying, even enjoyable steps toward the YOU you want to become, you will feel stronger and more confident that moving away from old ways is possible and yes, inevitable!
My goal is to help you find your way through the struggle and toward a new and hopeful life. Among other difficulties, I treat PTSD, hoarding, anxiety, fears, depression, OCD, and life transitions.
Do you ever argue with yourself or feel torn between two ways to go? I’ll show you how to use those inner feelings as insightful guides. You’ll learn how to see your weaknesses as your strengths–and vice versa.
We are all unique; yet we play a similar part of this vast humanity. The mysteries of life are waiting to be questioned, and we all have the power to take the next step, no matter how small.
THERAPEUTIC TECHNIQUE AND METHODOLOGY
I help families stay together by making simple yet powerful changes. I also work with parents who have kids they don’t know what to do with. Family dynamics guide our lives starting before birth. I help people connect the dots to make sense out of who they are based on what has come before and how they want to continue growing.
If you’ve tried therapy before and did not get the relief you wanted, or have always wondered what counseling would be like, I have some very easy and even fun ways to connect the dots–and feel better!
